New Zealand Punk Hardcore Photographs 03-09

35mm film and 3.2 megapixel digital point and shoot. Saved at lo-res compressed jpeg. Re-saved approximately 5x times. Hosted via Photobucket & Flickr. Posted to Punk-As forums, blogs, Myspace and small zines.
Re-downloaded in 2017 and published as an artefact to that time period.

An artefact is an object made by a human being, typically one of cultural or historical interest. Jpeg artifacting is something caused by compression when an image is saved in the .jpeg format. Each time an image is saved in this format it is compressed and “non-essential” data is discarded. The result of compression is that an image can suffer from blockiness, noise and color degradation.”
